Seed Educational Trust celebrated together with 20 School Leadership Programme participants (SLP 10) at their end-of-course gala dinner on Tueday, 9th of October 2012.
The Gala dinner and Awards ceremony was held at the University of Stellenbosch Business School who partners with Seed in the School Leadership Programme. Also present was the Director of the WCED East Metropole District, Mr Melvyn Caroline and representatives of the Nedbank Foundation, who is the programme sponsor.
The course participants who are all in leadership positions in their respective schools in the Metropole East Education District of Cape Town all completed the two year leadership programme that kicked off in 2010.
Each participant was awarded a certificate and three of them gave feedback to the whole group on how the course changed and improved their ability to lead their schools and enhance whole-school performance. Amongst the schools that participated were the Centre of Science and Technology in Khayelitsha (COSAT) who in 2011 became the first township school in the Top 10 performing schools for matric results in the Province.
