On 9 September 2025, 38 district and provincial officials graduated from the year-long, SBS-ED accredited School Leadership Development Facilitation Programme (SLDF), run by SEED Educational Trust. This first cohort achieved a 100% pass rate, 17 distinctions, and an average above 70%, with participants noting the programme gave them not only facilitation skills but also a renewed sense of purpose.
Addressing the graduates, HOD Ms. Maasdorp described the programme as part of the Department’s turnaround strategy, while DDG Mr. Tywakadi highlighted the demand for facilitation skills to strengthen teaching and learning. SEED’s Managing Trustee, Mr. David Newby, thanked the ECDOE, partners, and funders — the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation and Get It Done Foundation — for their collaboration in making the initiative possible.
